What Ridgefield houses need
Ridgefield has the best street for lit houses in the county. Main Street runs antique colonials close to the road under mature trees, in a downtown people actually walk in December. On that street the entry, the porch, the wreath on the door, and the trim get seen from ten feet away rather than from a car at thirty miles an hour, and the detail work is worth more than it would be anywhere else.
Away from the village it changes completely. Ridgebury and the mountain roads are open acreage and hillside lots where the house reads from a distance and the roofline does the work. Two very different jobs in one town, which is why each gets measured and quoted on its own.
A town that walks in December
Between the Playhouse, the shops, and the tree lighting, Ridgefield gets real foot traffic downtown through the holidays. If your house is on or near Main Street, people are passing it on foot, at night, slowly. That is the one situation where the small stuff genuinely pays: lit wreaths on the windows, garland on the railing, the walk up to the door.
Historic properties near the village get the same treatment as any antique we work on. Clips go on the shingle edge or gutter lip, and nothing is stapled, screwed, or nailed.
How it goes
From your call
to lights on.
No packages and no waiting weeks for a quote. You see the design on your own house before we hang a bulb.
Design visit
We come out to Ridgefield, usually within a day or two of your call, and design it on the iPad on a photo of your house. You see the roofline lit, pick the colors, and get one flat price. You go on the schedule right then.
Installed that week
Most homes are installed the same week as the design visit. Commercial-grade LED, hidden clips, timers set, and everything tested at dusk before we pull out of the driveway.
Lit all season
Anything goes dark, text us and we fix it, no charge. In January it all comes down and goes to our shop, labeled, until next year. Nothing in your garage.
What it costs in Ridgefield
Pricing does not change by town. Most homes land between $800 and $3,500 for the season, and the number comes from how much roofline you have, how tall the house is, and how many trees and entry pieces you want lit. Every quote is one flat, all-in price covering design, installation, service all season, takedown in January, and storage.
See the full pricing breakdown for ranges by house size, or send your address and we will come out and give you an exact number.
Ridgefield questions
We are on Main Street. Does that change the design?
It should. People walk past your house in December instead of driving past it, so the entry, the porch, the windows, and the walk are worth more than they would be on a set back lot. We will weight the design that way if you want it.
Our house is an antique. Any risk to the trim?
No. Clips go on the shingle edge or gutter lip, and nothing is stapled, screwed, or nailed. On an antique we walk the mounting plan with you at the design visit before anything goes up.
Do you come all the way out to Ridgebury?
Yes. The whole town is in our area, village to the New York line. Rural roads and long driveways are normal for us.
