What Wilton houses need
Wilton is one of the most heavily wooded towns we cover. Two acre zoning across most of it means houses sit back behind trees, and a lot of what looks like a modest colonial from the road is a larger house you simply cannot see all of. Antique center hall colonials near the village, 1960s and 70s contemporaries on the ridges, and newer construction filling in between.
That tree cover changes what is worth paying for. On a lot where the road can only see part of the house, spending the whole budget on roofline is money the street never sees. The trees framing the front and the approach up the drive usually do more, and we would rather tell you that at the design visit than sell you the bigger number.
You are lighting a gap in the trees
The practical question on most Wilton properties is what the road can actually see. Sometimes it is the full front elevation. More often it is a gap in the tree line, and the design should aim at that gap rather than wrap a house nobody can see from the street.
We work that out standing in your driveway at the design visit, looking back at the house from where a car would pass. It is a five minute conversation that changes what the quote should include.
How it goes
From your call
to lights on.
No packages and no waiting weeks for a quote. You see the design on your own house before we hang a bulb.
Design visit
We come out to Wilton, usually within a day or two of your call, and design it on the iPad on a photo of your house. You see the roofline lit, pick the colors, and get one flat price. You go on the schedule right then.
Installed that week
Most homes are installed the same week as the design visit. Commercial-grade LED, hidden clips, timers set, and everything tested at dusk before we pull out of the driveway.
Lit all season
Anything goes dark, text us and we fix it, no charge. In January it all comes down and goes to our shop, labeled, until next year. Nothing in your garage.
What it costs in Wilton
Pricing does not change by town. Most homes land between $800 and $3,500 for the season, and the number comes from how much roofline you have, how tall the house is, and how many trees and entry pieces you want lit. Every quote is one flat, all-in price covering design, installation, service all season, takedown in January, and storage.
See the full pricing breakdown for ranges by house size, or send your address and we will come out and give you an exact number.
Wilton questions
Our house is barely visible from the road. Is it worth doing?
Usually yes, but designed differently than a house on an open lot. We look at what the street actually sees and put the light there, which often means the trees along the drive and the entry before the full roofline. You will see both versions and the price for each at the design visit.
Can you light a long driveway?
Yes, and on a wooded Wilton lot it is often the highest impact part of the job. Wrapped trunks along the drive and lit entry posts at the road do more than another run of roofline the trees are hiding.
How does power work on a property this size?
One working exterior outlet covers most jobs. Where the run from the house to what you want lit is long, we plan the cord routing and timer placement at the design visit so nothing crosses a driveway or a walk.
